Hike: Hastings to Winchelsea (with Beach Clean)

We dare say this is one of our all-time favourites! It is a great scenic coastal walk close to London.

We will start off the hike with a short beach cleanup at Bottle Alley (our volunteering hike of the term!) and then move along to the hike. We'll start from the fishing port of Hastings Old Town and up onto the cliffs along which we will follow the Saxon Shore Way to the east passing Ecclesbourne Glen, Hastings Country Park and Covehurst Bay to the village of Fairlight Cove. After we pass Cliff End we drop down from the cliffs into a flat, Dutch looking landscape with an added windmill just for effect. We'll follow the Royal Military Canal until we reach Winchelsea and its impressive Medieval Friary!
