What We’re All About

Our mission is to provide opportunities for UCL students and alumni to explore London, Britain and Europe.  We promote and support leading active lifestyles, making new friends, developing skills and confidence, having fun and developing a sense for adventure and interest in the world around us through walking and hiking, our social activities programme and wider membership benefits.  We operate with an inclusive, open and safety conscious approach where membership fees are transparently and efficiently utilised for the benefit of all members, challenging the perception that studying in London limits your access to the great outdoors.

We use the many transport links that London has to undertake a varied array of countryside day walks, urban tours and overnight hiking trips.  We aim to offer something for everyone, so some of our hikes are shorter and on flatter terrain, while our residential trips tend to be in the more rugged and hilly regions of the UK. All of our walks are lead  by experienced student walk leaders, and we ensure there is a trained first aider on each walk for everyone's safety.  Equally important to our walks, hikes and trips is our varied and exciting social diary based in London throughout the year and special events such as specialist training.

Join us for all or just some of our packed programme, we are a flexible society that does not require you to commit to joining us every session, every week, or every term.

If you are keen to be more involved or are interested to helping run the society or leading walks, speak to any Committee Member or email us.
