About The Event

Join us for our third Try It! Hike of the year! You need to have purchased one of our two memberships to join us on this hike (Free/Remote or Full). Membership can be purchased on the UCL Hiking Club page on the Students' Union Website.

Due to Covid, we have a maximum capacity of 30 people on each hike, so we ask that you sign up with the Eventbrite link (listed below) to confirm your spot. This is on a first-come, first-serve basis, so if you're interested we recommend signing up quickly! We also ask that you only sign up for one Try It! hike, so everyone can get a spot.

Full details for the hike (tickets, meeting place and time, what to bring, etc.) will be sent out in an email to those who have signed up for the hike.

This classic cliff-top walk – one of the finest coastal walks in England – affords stunning (and very famous) views of the white cliffs of the Seven Sisters, and the renowned Beachy Head, before ending in the elegant seafront town of Eastbourne. There is quite a lot of climbing and descending on the walk – indeed, apart from the section around Cuckmere Haven and the finish along the Eastbourne seafront, almost none of the route is flat – but somehow in the grandeur of the scenery the effort is not noticed.

WALK LEADERS: Duncan Raitt, Alex Walton-Keeffe WALK DISTANCE: 21.8 km WALK TERRAIN: Includes rough unsurfaced paths that may become muddy WALK TOTAL ASCENT: 549m If you have any concerns about the walk terrain due to disabilities or medical conditions please speak to the walk leader, so that we can make arrangements or plan future hikes that meet your needs.
